21 Mirrors • Stories of quiet human frailty
21 Mirrors is a collection of intimate psychological stories, each following a different person through something deeply human: the feeling of being invisible in your own body, the panic that makes breathing feel impossible, the exhaustion of depression, the ache of attachment, the search for identity, the strange distance of psychosis, the pull of addiction, the weight of trauma, the experience of grief, and the quiet work of becoming yourself again.
Each chapter is a different mirror.
Some are difficult to look into. Some might feel unexpectedly familiar. And some may show you something you didn't realize you'd been carrying.
Written at the intersection of psychology, storytelling, and mysticism, the book doesn't approach mental health as a list of symptoms to diagnose. Instead, it asks a more human question: what does it actually feel like to live inside these experiences?
At the heart of it all is Angelique, the enigmatic woman who sits across from each of these souls and listens. Through her, the stories become less about what's "wrong" with someone and more about what happened to them, what they carry, and what healing might look like.
There are 21 stories, covering experiences ranging from body dysmorphia, panic disorder and depression to attachment wounds, autism, BPD, trauma, addiction, NPD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, limerence and grief.
This isn't a clinical handbook. It isn't a self-help workbook. And it isn't a book asking you to have everything figured out.
It's a collection of lives, wounds, strange corners of the mind, and little moments of recognition.
Some mirrors are sharp. Others heal. All of them are human.
